Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Machinist capable of independently setting up and operating large manual and CNC equipment, including:

Horizontal Boring Mills (HBM)

Vertical Turret Lathes (VTL)
-
Large manual lathes and mills
This is not a production role. We manufacture custom, heavy industrial components requiring precision, problem-solving, and strong blueprint interpretation.
Responsibilities

Set up and operate large machining equipment independently

Read and interpret engineered drawings and tolerances
-
Machine large fabricated components
-
Select tooling, feeds, and speeds appropriately

Perform precision measurements and quality checks
-
Work collaboratively with welders and fitters
Qualifications
-
5+ years machining experience preferred
-
Experience with large part machining
-
Strong blueprint reading skills
-
Ability to work with minimal supervision
-
Commitment to safety and quality
Red Seal certification considered an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG, FCAW, and Sub-Arc welding

Weld structural and heavy plate assemblies

Read and interpret fabrication drawings and weld symbols

Fit and tack components prior to welding

Maintain dimensional accuracy and weld integrity
Qualifications

3–5+ years industrial welding experience

Experience welding carbon steel plate

Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings

Strong understanding of weld distortion control
CWB certification considered an asset.
